Volunteers Needed this Summer for Audit and Budget Committees

By Rob Tashjian

Ready for a wild, exciting summer?  Well, 4-H activities don't come to an end just because school is out!  Bayside 4-H will be doing a year end financial audit, and sending the results up to the County for judging, and you can help.  Ok, so maybe it's not so exciting, and maybe it’s not really going to be judged, but it does need to be done, and you can help by volunteering for the Audit Committee.  We need to go through all the financial transactions (i.e.., checks written and deposits made) for the last year and verify that they were properly recorded.  It takes about two hours and you can learn a lot about 4-H finances in the process.

If that isn't enough excitement, there is also the Budget Committee, which will meet several times during the summer to plan Next Year's Budget (loud, thundering words here).  The Budget Committee will examine all the areas where the club spends money (i.e.., skit night, meeting supplies, year end party, awards, donations, member grants, etc.) and come up with a proposal for how the club will spend it's money next year.  More information will be sent out at the beginning of the summer, so watch for it.
